Website and enquiry terms

These are the terms for using prestonunderpinning.co.uk, the website for Preston Underpinning, and for any enquiry sent through it. Preston Underpinning runs this site, and browsing it or sending an enquiry means you accept what follows. If you don't agree with any of it, the simplest option is not to use the site.

What this website does

underpinning We explain, in general terms, what underpinning involves and what to expect, then pass your enquiry to one specialist firm covering your area. We aren't that firm, and we don't carry out any inspection, survey or building work ourselves.

Using what's published here

Preston Underpinning owns, or holds a licence to use, the words, images, layout and code that make up this website, except where a licensor is named. You're free to view the site and print a page for yourself, but republishing it, framing it within another site, scraping its content, or any other misuse, is not permitted.

What the pages are, and what they're not

underpinning Everything on these pages is written as general background about underpinning, not as a survey, a structural report, or advice tailored to your particular property. Nothing here should take the place of having the property properly inspected.

What happens once you send an enquiry

There's no cost to sending us an enquiry, and doing so doesn't create a contract between you and us. Your enquiry, with the details you gave, is passed to one specialist firm covering the area you told us about, so that they can contact you about it. They use it only to answer your enquiry and to arrange any visit or work you agree with them, and from that point they are responsible for how they handle it. We do not pass your details to anyone else for their own use. Whatever follows, whether it's an inspection, a quotation, or actual work, is something you agree directly with the specialist, under their own terms, and nothing stops you asking other firms for quotes as well. The specialist may pay us when we pass the enquiry on. You pay us nothing, and you are free to get quotes from anyone else.

Who answers for the work that follows

The specialist firm that contacts you is the one responsible for their own inspection, their advice, their quotation, any work they carry out, and any guarantee they offer. If something goes wrong with that work, raise it with them first, though we'd like to know too, so do tell us through the contact page.

No promise that every page is perfect

We put effort into keeping this site accurate and online, but we can't promise either. Parts of it may be changed, corrected or removed at any time without notice.

The limit of what we're responsible for

We don't try to limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law simply won't let us limit. Outside of that, our liability to you arising from this site or an enquiry is excluded to the extent the law allows. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law gives you, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Links to other websites

Where this site points you to another website, that destination isn't ours, isn't under our control, and a link doesn't mean we recommend or vouch for it.

If we change these terms

We can change these terms, and the version shown on this page at any time is the one that applies. A change made afterwards won't affect an enquiry you've already sent us.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of the place where we're established. If you're a consumer, nothing here takes away your right to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.

Raising a complaint

If you have a question about these terms, or about the site generally, the contact page is the way to reach us. If you complain to us about how we have handled your personal information, we acknowledge it within 30 days and reply as soon as we can.
